MY BOOKS

No one reads my books any more.
People say my poems are depressing
and that all I do
is complain.

People tell me
they've got problems
of their own.

I guess they have a point.
Everyone is feeling down;
they don't need to read
the same sad story
over and over.

People say,
"Don't you have some positive poems
to lift our spirits?"
